Somatic Therapy
We often talk about the mind body connection, but even this statement implies that there is some kind of division within us between our thoughts, emotions, and our bodies. But nature does not work this way. When we emerged form the womb, there was no distinction between our emotions and how they felt in our bodies. In our culture, we tend to learn emotional suppression very early, and we often lose track of how emotions are expressed in the body. Part of healing and awakening to our emotions is learning again to experience them in our bodies. For those of us who feel trapped within cycles of thoughts that we cannot seems to resolve, awakening to the somatic experience of emotions can be a life changer. All the forms of therapy we use pay close attention to what is happening in your body.
