ABOUT US
Don
Registered Psychologist
Don's work as a psychologist comes from a place of patient compassion and a strong belief that people carry within them the capacities to heal emotionally, much like we do physically. He is convinced that what this world needs most is for people to live as their most true selves.
As author James Hollis says, “We are not here to fit in, be well balanced, or provide exempla for others. We are here to be eccentric, different, perhaps strange, perhaps merely to add our small piece, our little clunky, chunky selves, to the great mosaic of being. As the gods intended, we are here to become more and more ourselves.”
Don believes that the journey back to ourselves begins with bringing healing to the protective layers that cause deeply distressing mental health problems and ultimately prevent us from bringing our best selves forward in life.
Don is on this journey with you, not as an expert in an ivory tower, but close to you in the trenches of daily life in a challenging world. He will not ask you to do anything is not willing to do and has not done for himself.
Don’s is a spiritual person whose personal healing has been enhanced greatly by the therapy modalities he will use with you. Before becoming a psychologist, Don worked as a special education teacher, resource teacher, and school principal in the Calgary area.
Don is very active. He loves the outdoors and values the wholeness that comes through connecting with the land.
