Psychoeducational Assessment
Psychoeducational assessment is often about supporting children, youth, and adults at school, but it is much more than that. You can think of a psychoeducational assessment as a sort of checkup looking at how someone learns, as well as how they interact with others and the world at large. We are very thorough in our approach to psychoeducational assessment, and we often look at cognitive abilities, academic skills, memory abilities, attention and executive functions, and social/emotional development -and we write all in an easy-to-understand report for you. It should go without saying that we are on the lookout for the unique strengths present within each person.
Having an up-to-date psychoeducational assessment is critical for self-understanding. It can also result in all kinds of assistance and support from elementary school all the way through post-secondary studies.
Gifted Assessment
In very real ways, everyone is gifted with irreplaceable talents and energy. Gifted assessments, though, are a special type of assessment for children, youth, and adults who have particularly strong intellectual abilities. It is critical to identify strengths in reasoning and logical problem solving because people with this type of profile require adjustments to the way education and training happens. Strong intellectual abilities often result in social and emotional challenges that require sensitivity and understanding, and most of all, compassionate self-awareness.
A gifted assessment may also be required to access specialized programming and schools that focus on gifted education. We are very experienced in providing this service.
